I started designing wedding and event stationery around my last year of design school...I hate to admit how long ago that was! It started with one friend getting married, and who better to ask to do you invites than your friend who does graphic design? After that , it was a long string of word-of-mouth referrals...friends, family, coworkers, etc. I took my 'hobby' to the public about 6 months after my daughter was born, and began selling on eBay mainly. Then, a year and a half later, I was told about this wonderful place called "Etsy"...and the rest is history!

The inspiration for this particular laser cut pocket came from the bride and groom’s venue, The Breakers in Palm Beach Florida, as well as the vision the bride had in mind. She had a lot of ideas but a few that were important to her were elements of the beach and the structure of their venue. The venue itself is extremely glamorous, full of color and a ton of flourish detail. The ceiling of the ballroom has gorgeous hand painted clouds which I tried to incorporate in the die cut portion of the laser cut flap and pocket.

I combined laser cut and embossing techniques, to help make the design more unique, the pattern was inspired by chic lace patterns perfect for any luxurious and romantic wedding day. I created a delicate envelope pocket design, ensuring that both sides were laser cut to add the extra wow factor. One of my most favorite designs to date. I created a classic rose laser cut design and introduced a classic rose designed paper backer to complete the look. Beautiful in so many colors, but enchanting in navy and darker color options.
