We offer four different printing methods: Foil Stamping, UV Printing, Thermography and Digital Printing. 1. What is Foil Stamping?

Nothing says "extra special" like foil stamping, but what exactly is it? Foil stamping is also known as "foil embossing" or "hot foil stamping". It's exactly the same technique, a traditional artisan method of hand printing. This prized printing method allows us to create simply, stunning wedding invitations and what's more, you have the option to foil print all of the wording in a single design or you can combine foil stamping with digital printing.

2. How does it work?

Foil stamping is a special kind of printing procedure where heat, metal plates, die, pressure, an antique press, and metallic paper (foil material) is used to create various shiny designs and graphics onto invitations. First a metal plate/die (like stamp) is engraved with your design. The metal plate/die is then heated and pressed firmly onto your selected card with a sheet of colored foil, sandwiched between the two. As a result, the card is branded with a beautiful metallic finish.

1. What is UV Printing?

UV printing is a form of digital printing that uses ultra-violet lights to dry or cure ink as it is printed. As the printer distributes ink on the surface of a material (called a "substrate"), specially designed UV lights follow close behind, curing - or drying - the ink instantly. This unique printing method allows us to create gorgeously detailed wedding invitations with a raised print similar to thermography printing, in full color.

2. How does it work?

UV printing is done using a UV LED printer which carries out a few quick processes to create the print. The first process is the application of ink onto the material. Then, a second process quickly follows where specially designed ultra-violet lights emit the UV light on the ink, curing it instantly.

3. Designing tips for UV
1) With UV printing, you can achieve: A. full color design, or B. white ink on white paper, or C. black ink on black paper.
2) If you need a part of the design raised and part of it with a non-raised effect, then you need to provide us with three kinds of files.
A. Show the design complete with all different print techniques

B. Show a second page using just UV print you need

C. Show a third page with just digital print you need

3) We cannot do UV printing of your border designs near the edge.

1. What is Thermography?

Thermography or thermographic printing is a printing process that causes text or graphics to be raised slightly. The resulting visual effect looks both formal and stylish, hence why it's a process commonly used for wedding invitations, business cards, greeting cards, letterheads, gift wrap and packaging. Thermography produces the look and feel of a higher-end engraved product, but at a fraction of the price.

2. Thermography process

Thermography combines a traditional printing method with a specific type of finishing. It can be done in a fairly manual fashion or using a completely automated system.
1) A printed sheet drops off the printing press onto the conveyor of the thermography machine.
2) The conveyor moves the freshly printed sheet through the powder applicator, covering the entire sheet with thermography powder.
3) The thermography powder attaches itself to the wet ink.
4) The extra powder is vacuumed up and stored for re-use.
5) The coated sheet passes through an oven with temperatures ranging from 900 to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit.
6) The sheet passes through a cooling tunnel and is stacked.

3. Designing tips for thermography

1) Only one side of the paper can be printed using thermography. You cannot have raised letters on both the front and back of business cards or invitations.
2) Do not use type that is smaller than 6 points. The hole in characters like the 'e' will fill in.
3) Avoid typefaces with very thin strokes.
4) Try to avoid mixing large solid areas and small type on the same page. The printer can adapt the type of resin to the presence of either small text or large solids, but only one type of resin can be used.
5) Avoid very large solid printed areas. Some shrinkage of the image is normal and this can cause distortion of the paper.

1. What is Digital Printing?

Digital Printing is the latest revolution in the print industry. Enabled by digital technology, the most significant difference from other print methods is that there is no printing plate required with digital print. Any image created on a computer can be printed directly to the finished piece via electronic means.
Digital printing is a modern printing method that allows for a wide array of colors. Unlike letterpress printing or foil stamping, where ink or foil is actually pressed into the paper one color at a time. Digital printing is flat and can print multiple colors at the same time. We can print any wedding invitation design digital and you can combine digital printing with foil stamping for a truly personalized piece.

2. Pricing

We offer all dealers a free digital printing service; this includes the printing of all wording in invitations and matching cards.

Please allow 3 working days from the time you place your order for a finished digital proof. The proof must be read carefully and you must let us know if any revisions are needed. We allow two free rounds of changes, however any additional revisions after that will cost $7.00 per round.
Once your order is approved we will prepare your files for print. Digital printed orders will be shipped within 3-5 working days from the proof approval. Foil, UV and thermography printed orders will be shipped within 7-10 working days from proof approval. Please allow 3-5 working days for shipping on all printing techniques.
